About Me
Hi I'm Jane, Since qualifying in 2019, I have dedicated my practice to helping adults navigate life experiences in the here and now.
My approach provides a safe, empathetic space to address areas such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief and bereavement, anger issues, low self-esteem, relationship challenges and the lasting impacts of trauma.
I offer individual counselling and also long or short term counselling, depending on the client's needs.
I'm an active full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I practice in accordance to its ethical framework for good practice.
Further information can be found at: www.bacp.co.uk
I'm an Integrative Counsellor, where I combine a mixture of methods and approaches.I have found interweaving these modalities helps to promote client's functions within their emotional, physical and mental health to maximise their potential, in regards to exploring and recognising patterns of behaviour and setting goals.
For example: ...
The Car Journey
You are the driver and in control of the direction you wish to go.
I'm your passenger who is with you along the way.
I will empower you to make decisions and find your own solutions, to reach your potential goal.
I will be honest and true in areas that may be hindering your journey, to help you to become more confident within yourself to find your way.
There maybe other drivers that honk their horns and try to push you off your speed of direction, but it's about remaining focused on your journey ahead.
There might be some road blocks along the way and you may be unaware how to get through, but finding and looking at these potential blocks, can open up new pathways and a way through.
If I sense that your defeating patterns are blocking your reality of getting through and hindering your journey, we can explore this together, rather than becoming stuck within your experience.
There may be some roundabouts and back seat drivers that have crept in along the way, pulling you around leaving you unsure which direction to go.
You may feel overwhelmed and lose your train of thought but, as the driver, you are in control moving away from the roundabout. It's your journey, not theirs.
